Hi

Will a wireless router allow me to connect to the net on my cell phone using the router as an access point? Do I need to make sure it has any particular specifications in terms of Wireless Protocol?

If your phone supports Wireless 802.11a/b/g/n, then you should be able to get a wireless ADSL modem/router or simply a wireless AP to allow your phone to access the Internet via your ADSL modem.

So if you already have an ADSL modem, I would suggest that you simply get a Wireless AP that you can hook onto your existing network to allow wireless devices Internet access. The reason for this is simple: Wireless AP's are cheap.
