Would there be a difference in sound quality between connecting your sound bar wirelessly to the the tv and connecting it with an optical digital cable. Currently I connect wirelessly and would like to know if it is worth buying the digital cable.

How did you connect it wireless to your tv? I do know the sound bar and the sub is wireless
What's the brand/model?

Then Ill give my opinion

Maybe a marginal decrease that I really doubt you'll hear.

Yes, I am currently set up wirelessly. Samsung led wireless tv with samsung hw-h450 soundbar + woofer. Sound is good it just sometimes makes a scratchy noise. After switching of and on again it's ok again. Thus my question regarding the cable option.

I've connected my TV and SB with an HDMI cable, this way I can use the remote of the TV to power both on and off at the same time, and also change volume etc.. Then my Sub is connected Wireless to the SB, and I have to say that just works!

To get a optical connection would give you the best sound quality between devices, but is an overkill (I Think)

The SoundBar's in this class has pretty good sound, but I see it as a step in the right direction to improve the quality of your TV speakers, but in no way playing in the 5.1/7.1 systems etc.. audio field.

So to get rid of the static noises, yes connect the SB to the TV with some sort of cable (I would say skip Optic and go the HDMI route).
Then enable the Audio Return Channel (ARC) and then you control everything with your TV remote only, (de-clutter) and then you have the best possible sound without strange interferences.

I Agree with Dolby that no matter which connection you use, I don't think you'll hear the difference.

Great advice. I'll definitely do what you suggested. Like the fact that you control volume with the tv remote.
Only reason I mentioned optical cable is the fact that it retails for around R80 and I thought that's not to bad.
