Hi guys

I have a central room (study) that I would like to turn into an entertainment hub.

In the “Study” I have a PC.

I would love to accomplish the following over a wireless network (so, I will need many transmitters and receivers).

From this PC, I want to play, and stream DVD/CD/ content to:

1. Digital Projector
2. Two TV’s (more to be added at a later stage) and a Plasma screen.
3. A 6.1 Surround Sound System (don’t know if this is possible – keeping the Surround sound effects).
4. I would obviously like to change over between TV-viewing and video-streaming at the respective TV’s.
5. A remote control that will work from anywhere in the house.

I would greatly appreciate it if anyone can suggest products that will handle these requirements.

...Or if you supply this sort of thing, I have an Order Number...

Regards

Marcellus

I would rethink the use of wireless for all of this. Cat5 will give you much better consistent performance.

You will need a network media streaming client for each TV/projector. There are numerous products out there, google for network media streamers.

Ah, thanks Goobie.

That was the phrase I was looking for - "wireless" and "home entertaimnet" returned to much on Google.

...sigh...I thought I was on the button...but still nothing worth while...
I thought something as simple as Wireless Video Streaming would have been sort-of solved by now...

...and the next mission is a manned mission to Mars? Bleh! Good luck...

Thank you, Goobie

I’ve checked it out and it looks promising – I need to get my head around streaming to a multiple of devices, surround sound, etc.

I’ll be shopping around for these products and hopefully the sales person can advise me on some technical issues.

Again, thank you for taking the time to assist.

Regards

Marcellus
