If there is anyone that can plz help me!?

If you have to choose wireless internet to play WoW on, which is the best? HSDPA or Iburst(If you have great signal from both) or something else I have not thought of?

I have a pretty good connection through iBurst. Averages between 400 & 700ms latency.

Iburst, but it is still a fools choice. I get 200ms local where playing bf2 on iburst, and 20ms local when playing on adsl. bf2 servers kick you at 600ms.

Yeah if your getting a connection for gaming, wired is the way to go. I do however get less latency than friends playing on 384kpbs ADSL.

I play on iBurst. Works pretty well, but I do get random disconnects and lag spikes, which can be REALLY frustrating... if I had to choose again, I would go for ADSL with WebAfrica Unshaped Prepaid.

Any HSDPA/3G WoW players here? Would be interested to hear how that service delivers.

I play on MTN HSDPA.

Ping is around 400ms - 600ms on the EU servers.

Sometimes 1000Ms.... Just depends on the weather etc.

Believe me, If I had to choose between Wired and Wireless Id pick Wired... But I dont have a choice :sick:

Sofar Iburst seems like a promising option. But HSDPA is 1.8 mb/s ? Isn't that better than Iburst's 1 mb/s?.

And can anyone tell me if its possible to play WoW on Iburst if your account is capped(Running at 64kb/s) ?

Yep, strangely enough I've found that I actually get better latency when I'm capped than when I've got bandwidth left. I wouldn't believe that 1.8mb/s rubbish, I'd like to see them prove those speeds in real life conditions.

Well it's like u saying I'm using a 512Kbps ADSL line... Do u ever download at that speed ? There is a difference between connection speeds and true speed i would assume

512Kbps = kilobits per second

512Kbps = 64KBps kilobytes per second

kilobytes is what download speeds are usually measured in while kilobits is what line speeds are measured at.

I know 8bits = 1 byte

What i'm saying is the following:

Do u download @ 64KBps/512Kbps @ any time when your downloading ?

I think we all know the answer to that ;)

I am on 384K ADSL and I get between 350ms - 700ms. I am very happy. I tried to play on my Vodacom HSDPA card the other day and the latency is very up/down.

Sorry I misread your post, however yes I do get those speeds on my 512 line I often max out at 70KBps+

But my WOW latency still sucks at times.

U damn Lucky... Is the exchange in your room :eek:

Just joking ;)

LOL, no, in fact in fact it took me 8 months and constant nagging with Telkom to get ADSL in the first place.

When I originally ordered ADSL they installed it after 6 weeks.

it worked flawlesly and I was really happy, then 40 Minutes after it's installed and working, the Telkom techie comes back and Removes it! saying that my line is too long and it can't support ADSL!!!

It took me another 6 Months to get them to install it again, and my bribing the techie to not remove it after he tested the line and found it was too long again!!

yet I get perfect connections that never drop (accept if it's raining), good latency although I wish it was better and above average download speeds.
