Depends on how you define 'value' ...for your own needs, that is. Personally I'd go for old faithful, the (Linksys) WRT54GL. Sure, you may well get a cheaper device but, to be blunt, manufacturers tend to be sucktastic at doing more than the bare minimum they can get away with in the market ..and Linksys is no exception. However, their saving grace is that the WaRT (and in our market, pretty much only this one) can be hacked by loading third-party firmware that has a stunning array of options, some of which definitely have a benefit for the (Xbox/console) gamer.

Hi

Does anyone know if there is a step for step guide on setting up a Linksys and XBOX360 for wireless conectivity.

I feel so stupid right now, the salesman told me the XBOX360 had a built in Wireless Network (and everything looked so convincing at the time). When I looked at the Pro version box I must say I saw all the "buzz" words like 2.4G Wireless, even the picture on the side showed a Wireless Network Adaptor (not knowing I have to purchase it).

Right now the sole mission is to please my 12 year old. We have a PC in the room running wireless to my Dlink 604T which works like a charm. There is a spare on-board network point not being used, so I would think one option is to run a cable from the XBOX to the PC on the on-board port, then use ICS on XP to gain access to the ADSL commection. How the 2 network cards are link/bridged, etc is only there for the guru's :)

The problem is I have no clue how to do this at all. Is there anyone kind enough to help, or maybe even PM me and I will contact them via the landline.

Thanks

PS: An expensive alternate is to purchare the original, are they available in ZA?? (I know they can be bought at Take2)
