I have installed a few CBI ASP's in my house (single-socket), which work very well.

However, I have a number of double socket wall outlets which I want to make smart, but CBI don't have double socket ASP's, so I thought I could wire a Shelly 1 behind each of the dumb double socket outlets.

Is that possible? If so, how will the wiring work?

I have done this, however used a Shelly2.5 instead.

The trick is, to find double wall socket switch where the 2 switches are not enclosed in plastic. I found the very old sockets have this. The newer ones all seem to hide the wiring to the switches, which leaves you to finding a way to open them up.

Anyway, shelly2.5 saves space and add power monitoring.

Thanks for this.

Just been looking online, and there seems to be a scarcity of them. All the online stores I checked are out of stock.
