I don't know. It's very difficult to choose a broadband offering here because everything is so expensive on the ADSL side and you have the cap, WISPs like Sentech and Iburst have been having problems. I am hoping to get wireless internet today or tommorow from NetContacts and I will tell everyone how it is. It is an uncapped service, however it does also have P2P port shaping during the day. At night I think they turn that off. Just whatever you do, don't go on contract.

Rat do u have a website for them please? thanks for the constructive information

Well you know what they say - when something seems too good to be true ..........................
cannot get that page - hope it does not say anything about their service
he he he

strange i cannot access that page either?? wierd hey? tried firefox as well

no luck

Yep. I dunno, that is pretty messed up. What internet connection are you on at the moment? Iburst? Maybe they "limit" access to competitor's web pages as well. lol

Yep, I can access the page perfectly. I would laugh my ass off if they really did do that. Anyone else that can't access the NetContact website?

Which area do you live?

Netcontacts is based in Cape Town, they only have coverage in Paarl, Wellington, Knysna, George, Mossel Bay, Somerset West, Strand, Northern Suburbs CT and Southern Suburbs CT.

You might want to try get HomeDSL and a good package with a higher cap or maybe uncapped. Check www.hellkom.co.za for more info on ADSL ISPs. Of course you will have to wait something like 3 weeks for installation and will be dealing with Telkomonopoly as well :(

He he he. Maybe Mercury is working for iBust and this is all an elaborate cover-up operation. Arrest him Officer Sacke!

No, seriously. Try access it later and it will probably be fine.

i only arrest really BAD people !! he he he the conspiracy's are left for the scorpions = or whats left of them - he he he

Very odd. Here's the opening page:

"Netcontacts offers high speed Internet Access for businesses. Ideally suited for SOHO, medium, and large businesses, however in certain instances we do cater for for the private individual.

Wireless Internet can achieve speeds over 50 times faster than Dial-up. Experience the speed of affordable broadband high speed internet for your business the way the internet should be.

Netcontacts is based in Cape Town, we have coverage in Paarl, Wellington, Knysna, George, Mossel Bay, Somerset West, Strand, Northern Suburbs CT and Southern Suburbs CT. Please see coverage page for details. Netcontacts provides a 24 hour internet connection at unbeatable rates."

Quite how the 50 times relates to their maximum of 512kbs is not clear. Perhaps this just is a general statement about wireless internet. Here are their prices.

I just tried Firefox off the SuSE Linux 9.3 Live-DVD and it gives me a connection refused error. Interesting. So, it's an interaction with either the browser or the operating system.
