Hi guys

i need some more help please. I have a large network running in Jhb that i manage my self over bridging and PPPOE and i have a lot of problems with interference from other wireless service providers let alone all the other problems i encounter. please if someone could give any pointers on the interference thing i would appreciate that thank you. could some one also tell me what would be better (routing my network or keep it as bridging and PPPOE) please advise on this as my network is quite complex and i dont really have a great understanding of routing on mikrotik

Thanks Mike

1. Are you struggling with CCQ? Whats your signals on the links, what antennas and radios do you use? Need a lot more detail.

2.Bridging is a very poor way of building a wireless network, your best bet will be to implement OSPF. Depending on the size of your network. Take note, you will need someone with experience to do this, and this will cause downtime on your network.

Hi bender-bending-Rodriguez

I have read your question and think there might be a number of areas in which you would benefit from interacting with experts.

I wondered if you had considered joining the Wireless Access Providers' Association (WAPA) which is a non-profit member organisation set up specifically to support wireless ISPs.

Please check out www.wapa.org.za which has a video on what we are about, basic documents and contact information.

There is considerable experience and people share configuration information on the distribution lists. We also run training.

Interference is a difficult issue and that is a strong rationale for WAPA's existance. We combine our code of conduct, with a conflict resolution process and liaison with the ICASA to mitigate interference where reasonably possible. This is a longer term project for WAPA but we have made good progress recently with ICASA.

WAPA. It's a Wireless Future
