Hello,

It seems as if most ADSL ISP's have decided to lower their unshaped gig prices to around R30 per gig.

Why are the WISP companies still selling their ludicrously shaped gigs for R50 - 100 each?
Which ISP do you know of that has lowered their data prices & has good latency for gaming?

Regards,

Hi Tweak.

I bought a 1GB unshaped account for my pc, but I don't know what to do with it. It put met back R30 like you said, but I don't have a telephone or adsl line. I also don't have an adsl router.

How do I connect to the internet with it? I only have the account details.

Do I create a connection in network and sharing center?

i can understand a pricing structure of R200 pm for connection and 1gig, but thereafter the user may not be shafted if he wants to top up with extra gigs.

If you charge 100rand plus + for 1gig shaped data, taking into account most wisp's can route local traffic through dirt cheap data suppliers like telkom.. Making a over 200-1000 percent profit and still complain that maintaining towers were too expensive, the wisp needs to reconsider its management.

What is it about 8ta, mtn, vodacom, iburst, cellc that they can provide you with a lot of gigs data, a great deal cheaper than all wisp's and with better reliability.

Iburst especially with their new 20gigs for 200 pm. I dont see any wireless isp shark coming close to this deal.

Any wisp with a good customer base would be able to adjust their pricing scheme according to data costs set by big data suppliers.

But now is a time to get fat with ludicrous pricing, hopefully they are re-investing the money in expanding their networks, building up to become competative players in the future. However i doubt that will likely happen, once LLU is completed wisp's will have to spark if they dont want to lose a large ammount of customers searching for a better deal..
