Anyone planning on going to this?

Some big bands coming:

Epica
Septicflesh
Belphegor
Kataklysm
Fleshgod Apocalypse
Alestorm
etc

Yeah... 3/4 of those bands are crap. Epica is the only decent band in there.

Epica is the worst of them IMO. Ultra cheese... but that's just my opinion.

*edit* I'll definitely be going. I'd go for Belphegor alone, but there's some other solid bands in the lineup too, and still 2 more to be announced.

Tempted to go purely for the ability to tell the next tedious Xtian I encounter that I went to Witchfest...

No particular interest in the music though tbh.

Hahaha Epica sucks balls...#ucking pop metal.

Pretty amped to see Aborted, fleshgod and Belphegor. Not to mention they still have 2 bands to announce.

Kinda hoping for Carcass ;D

Deathcore Carnifex?

Fsck yeah on Grave, though!

Well personally I try not to care about specific genres. <whatever>core bands tend to change their sound as they grow and mature. Take cattle decapitation for example.

looks like a test run by Nuclear blast.

here are some obscure lesser known bands all bigger in Europe/America than here because of the smaller community if people pitch up we can send in the big boys and still make decent money.

decent turnout at a Festival like that leads to bigger and better bands coming here.

honest opinion, if you are into anything along these lines, go, its the only way to get the bands you like to actually come here.

Cattle Decapitation was grindcore though, which generally gets more respect in metal circles than metalcore/deathcore/crabcore etc.

Correct. If you're anything of a metal fan, you have a responsibility to go to WitchFest! Any guesses on the headliner? I've heard rumours of Machine Head, and they are on Nuclear Blast, so who knows? My bet is on them or Carcass.

Machine head would definitely pull people to the festival. They've had a pretty weird selection so far, not typically what I would've thought. Not complaining though. :D

On that list, I've only heard of Epica, and only because someone suggested they are similar to Nightwish (which I loved until Tarja left). Am I getting old?
