JOHANNESBURG – Members of the Wits academics staff association are staging a protest outside the university’s Great Hall where they say they are extremely concerned about the cost of university study.

'No cops on campus', 'free education', and 'increase state subsidies' - all of these are placard messages written by Wits academic staff who say education is a right not a privilege.

Lecturers wearing their graduation robes are picketing outside the university’s Great Hall.

Would love to know what departments/faculties these academics originate from..

Shoot them too then, job done. Live ammo does not discriminate between deluded thugs or the thugs who deluded them in the first place.

If the students could protest in a peaceful manner cops wouldn't be necessary.

Everybody has the right to protest.
Just do not trample on the right of people who doesn't want to protest
And if they riot shoot them.

Academics who can't think for themselves.

Education is only a right because we as human beings declared it as such. It has no natural or moral basis.

Now where is the protesting for free quality food or water or housing? You know, the things we actually need as a foundation to build education upon.
