Hi,
I have noticed a growing number of iBurst users playing ET on the SGS Public Server; the problem is that you have to setup some configurations for the game to be totally playable with reasonable pings. Yesterday there was a guy playing with the ping of 350 while he is uncapped, I am capped and get a ping of 75. So what im going to do here is show you how to setup the game to run flawless on iBurst.
After installing the game choose a system config that best meets the requirements of you computer, one thing here that I may do differently to other players is I have the resolution at 800*600 because I have always felt that going any higher makes aiming much harder.
Ok then join a server and bring up the console by pressing ~
Enter the following commands one after eachother leave the stuff out in (…) that just an explanation of what the command does:
/com_maxfps 43 (This limits the FPS to 43, higher than this degrades connection)
/cg_drawfps 1 (Displays FPS)
/pb_cl_enable (Manually enable punkbuster client)
/pb_sleep 250 (Make punkbuster ‘sleep’ after 250 seconds)
/pb_system 1
/pb_security 0 (Disable useless client security)
/rate 6000
/snaps 20
/cl_maxpackets 30
/net_noipx 1 (Basically just enhancing connection)
/com_hunkmegs 128 (If you have less than 512 RAM make this 64)
/com_zonemegs 24 (If you have less than 512 RAM make this 16)
/com_soundmegs 24 (If you have less than 512 RAM make this 16)
That should sort you out to play flawlessly
