Hi All,

I've been waiting for a Steam sale for Wolfenstein: The New Order. It's now super cheap, but I can't buy it. The game was available before the change to local currency. Anyone used VPN to get around it?

Is this not due to Bethesda not pricign their games in Rands yet? I've got Wolfenstien already, and didn't need a VPN for it
 
I had the same with Skyrim. I bought it a while back and now you can't buy it.
 
I don't think a VPN will help - I think your Steam account needs to be registered in the States. If I had to guess.

Bethesda has not made the majority of their titles available in SA yet. If you own them on Steam, you can still play them though.
 
Yes, the problem is Bethesda did not price our region yet. It's not region locked. There's a special on it at GMG as well, check it out.
 
I've got it already, before the currency conversion happened. What you could do though is purchase the Steam key from another site, and redeem it on your Steam account.

Also found this troubling. I even logged a call on Bethesda's web on this subject. Doubt I will get any response before the sale is over but I hope they will pay attention to the issue before the Steam Xmas Sale.

At least I bought some other games to keep me going till then.
 
I've been spending the past week being shuffled from retarded front-line support to retarded front-line support from both Valve and Bethesda, and both blame the other side and do nothing to actually help me.

I wonder if the people they hire are actually retarded, because that would explain a lot.

Valve upholds quite a decent standard when it comes to their quality of work their employees produce. They're generally on the ball.

Because just about all of Bethesda's games are missing from Steam? Because it's probably going to be cheaper to buy from Steam with our local currency than from an overseas site? I'm spending time badgering other devs, like id, or publishers like Konami, because they should be doing their job instead of just putting it off. They put all their eggs into Valve's basket, they should be paying attention to these changes.

Have fun wasting your time. If devs made a habit of listening to gamers then modern games probably wouldn't be in the state it's in.

It's not really much cheaper. Fallout 4 for example, is better priced on GreenManGaming. A lot of developers chuck all of their content onto the Steam platform, easier, and cost effective, plus it improves visibility of the product. Nothing wrong with Steam, it's a damn sight better than Origin.

Heh. You can thank me later when the publishers finally get around to updating their pricing because I'm pestering them every day about it.
 
lol I just got fed up and bought it from g2a. Waited way to long for a special etc while everyone was going on about how its actually a really nice single player shooter. Almost finished with the 40gb dl :)
