An Atteridgeville woman was sentenced to three years' imprisonment after she falsely accused a man of rape, police said on Monday.

Police spokesman Inspector Daniel Mavimbela said the accused man had already spent eight months in custody after bail was denied.

The 25-year-old woman had falsely accused a 42-year-old man of rape after her uncle found she had had sex with the man.

During sentencing, Magistrate Pierre Laurens told the woman she had put the man through shame through her false accusation.

This is very good, I mean how easy would it be for a woman to just scream rape after sex? And before you know it you spend months in jail because bail is denied. By then you have most probably lost everything...
 
Good, persons who cry rape to cover their promiscuity should be jailed, they have without conscious ruined a mans life, and detracted from the pain & shame of actual rape victims. - very good sentence.

Will make others think carefully before they employ this horrible life ruining scam.
 
Flippin awesome i am sure this happens way too often and i hope those 3 years mean three years and not 12 months or whatever.

That poor man spent 8 months in jail, 3 years is not nearly what she deserves.
 
3 years should be enough time for her to reflect on the 8 months he's been sitting in prison....
 
Let's just hope it's true and she was indeed lying otherwise that would suck.
 
I'd bring a civil claim against her too. I also think that if the falsely accused comes to any harm the individual who made the false claim should be prosecuted as though they committed the harm themselves. I'd go as far as saying a suicide should result in a murder charge.

Was watching a show on the Crime Channel over the weekend. The guy went to jail for 14 years because some chick "thought" he had raped her. Luckily they saved the DNA from the swab and it finally exonerated him once the technology caught up.

True story.
 
Women are evil. Or at least, they have the capacity to be very very very evil. They have the sympathy and consideration of judges and juries the world over and are always given the benefit of the doubt. Men on the other hand are portrayed as these vicious, ape-like things barely capable of human relation.

I laugh at chicks who can't find a date for the night or a boyfriend. They brought it on themselves.
 
Aeron i think if you look at crimes and war and all that, it would suggest men by far are more evil than females. Having said that it does not matter if you are female or male or black or white, some people are just evil regardless.

In October last year the woman was apparently having consensual sex with the man, when her uncle heard noises from the room.

"He could not convince his tenant to open the door, so he called the police," said Mavimbela.

She must have been making some nasty sounds to convince the uncle to suspect that something bad is going on.
 
She, and women like her, should be slaughtered and fed to the pigs. :mad: :mad: If only everyone could shrug it off like Zuma...
 
Good ending, unfortunately for every 1 man that is falsely prosecuted 100's of guilty men walk away free. I hope we share the same enthusiasm to see the other 100 guilty behind bars
