Here i have a maybe stuped question but here it comes. :o
I have looked on the net and cant see why the amd is the gaming pc of choice. It is said to be faster but i see it only have up to 2.4 gig procesors.
And its cash is low too. So can some one tell me the facts plzzzzz. I will like some facts and not just you like amd or intel hehehe.
Thanks hope i can become smart. ;)

Have a great day all :D

AMD's actual mhz is lower than intel's but intel's instructions is shorter. Because of this, Intel's CPU's goes through more instructions per second than AMD's. AMD's intructions, however, does more than Intel's in one go.

Thus comparing AMD and Intel purely on instructions per second is useless. Because of this, AMD gives out another speed indicator with it's cpu's.

Look for the +, eg. 3000+ would be ruffly equal to Intel's 3ghz. Allthought the 3000+ would have something like a 2ghz actual instructions per second. (don't have a pricelist nearby to check).

This is however not perfect for comparison, and I would highly recommend looking at benchmarks, to see which cpu performs better under which circumstances.

Mostly AMD's *where* (not shure yet myself, depends what they come up with next?) the gaming CPU o choice, simply becasue they performed alot better than Intel CPU's for gaming, and had lower prices.

the MHZ doesnt matter at all these days, even intels new CPU's are taking the lower clocked method. SO rather look at benchmarks and pricing.

Hey thx you 2 thats alot of help :)
Now if you know of a link for bench test i can have a look and see :)
hehe.

See i can learn more and more here i love it here thx to all. ;)

Well, Intel is leaving the Pentium brand behind and is now using the Core brand. Their processors are more like the AMD ones now, it performs at less GigaHertz but it still actually faster.

A AMD 3500+ (single core at 2,2GHz), beats a Pentium 4 3GHz in most things. The new Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 (dual core at 1,83GHz) beats a Pentium D 945 (dual core at 3,4GHz) and the AMD 4200+ (dual core at 2,2GHz)

Hope that helps.

supersunbird

Hey supersunbird i have looked at it just now and yes i think you are right it may be that gaming pc's will go back to intel again :) .

Thanks i am glad i'm with all the ppl here that know something :o

er, maybe MHz only isn't the way to go. I'm sure speed is still very important to both :D

Increasing MHz is the only guaranteed way of increasing performance, or at least the most predictable way.

i dunno about that hey

intel's top pentium was 3.9 if i remember

there top conroe is 2.9 and it kicks the crap outta that pentium

so how important is speed really :)

speed is not the only way to make a fast cpu

I dont think you're getting ShockG's point. So if speed isnt important, being slow isn't important either?

I think you mean to say MHz clock is not important...
