so i have always avoided anything named wondershare like the plague - for no reason in particular.
but about 3 months back i downloaded this app - for macbook pro.
the purpose was for converting music and videos to and from different formats - something i do on a very regular basis.
in the past i have usually used the relevant app within the os.
or for music: audacity (amongst a couple of others).
video has been handbrake, mpeg streamclip, quicktime pro.
turns out the wondershare app does everything better and quicker.
i have done side by side comparisons - for example using a .mov file & converting to mpeg-4 (using same frame rate / dimensions etc).
wondershare produces the same result as handbrake etc - but only quicker.
i've taken a very careful look at the videos converted by wondershare on both the laptops and tv - and there simply is no difference to be noticed in terms of quality etc.
I've also taken a close look to see if wondershare is up to anything else in the background - but found nothing.
3 months laster after continual & extensive use, i remain impressed - so much so that i now intend downloading from the developer and paying for the app (current version being used came from the high seas)
In my 20yrs or so of using macs, this is only the 2nd time i have done this - the other app was called sharepod (about 15yrs back or so) that allowed you to transfer music from ipod back to laptop.
