It will sit in storage forever if not.Why would you want to do that to a gorgeous Oak table...
Try contacting a second hand furniture store in your area that refurbishes stuff... maybe they will either do it, or will have a suitable table and be prepared to do a swap with you.
I have done a faire amount of woodwork, and what you require is not really feasible.
Lol yes it is. You can just cut a section out and use the same legs.I have done a faire amount of woodwork, and what you require is not really feasible.

I could do it myself if I had the equipment, it's construction makes it pretty easy...I have done a faire amount of woodwork, and what you require is not really feasible.
Get back in the game for me...Erm, I beg to differ, totally feasible.
Find a decent Furniture restorer in your area - its a job I could easily have done but alas all my tools donated to affirmative shopping plus I'm lazy these days.
In Pretoria, anywhere in gauteng is cool.I would say its easily done, but I personally wouldn't do it to someone elses furniture... because there is a chance it would not come out perfect and that could be problematic.
Its one of the reasons I'm suggesting the second hand furniture shop idea, they may have something that they would do a straight swap with, then there is no modification needed..
@johnjm where abouts are you based?
Just an update. Went with Armentun, reasonable price. They should pick up in the next few days.I would suggest getting hold of Boer Schoeman (owner of Armentun Carpentry Services) in Lyttelton. He really knows his way around making furniture.
