Woolworths' farm-style pies

So, just change the way the crust looks and charge more.
Sadly, there is fools that will fall for the "free range" wording alone. Add "farmstyle" and you double the fools.

Without lab testing, the public will never know that what's in those pies isn't just the same as the regular pies. In this do-what-you-want country I'm sceptical, not that I'm rushing out to buy one anyway.

Checkers is doing the same sort of thing.
I think there's just R45 or something.
I have never bothered to buy the overpriced pie.

I have tried overpriced pies in the past and was always disappointed.

They all will employ same tactics. People are lazy and would rather buy overpriced tasteless (in many cases) cr*p than cook themselves.

Woolworths during and shortly after Covid was actually on par with Checkers and PnP due to being slow to adjust prices. Now they're being ridiculous again.

Woolworths sheeps will buy anything for any price.

Please read this.

Okay, the link aside. If the pie really isn't worth the price tag people will only buy it once, and then never again. Providing that they're not brainless idiots.

I've had some good pies, some were a little expensive. Never at a grocery shop like Woolies or Checkers though.

Has any of the kak en kerm brigade bought both pies and see if there is a difference?

I have not but most farm pies I have had was full of meat with little sauce and not sauce with a few chunks of meat like most pies you buy at garages or supermarkets.

A Mug and Bean on the go croissant or muffin is R45. On the go convenience isn’t cheap that’s for sure.

What’s a piecost?

If people don't like the cost, just don't buy it?

People need to understand that the meat used in these 'farm-style' pies come from animals that were grass-fed in the Drakensberg highlands and were also drinking the finest spring water in the land.
