Woolworths SA refuses to back down from supporting Pride Month

It's interesting that while all these religions use the same source material, they all come to different conclusions.

I mean God probably and technically wouldn't have "hands" if it existed, but these are the verses from the Bible

Look ma, no hands? I present oriental delusion.

So yes, pray to an eternal being in heaven that is powerful, but they are not God.
The copium from Catholics is something to behold.
You claim to be an atheist yet somehow you look down on Catholics over other Christians because their theology somehow makes less sense, how odd.

It is almost as bad as leftists who get completely confused about simple biology.
Yawn.

Yawn.
I have seen this tactic being used (of being atheist) everywhere (YT comments, reddit) to convince that they are rational person. How odd indeed.

Firstly, the trinity only conflicts with a singular god if you understand them as being separate beings which only Gnostics and Gnostic derived sects argue to be the case.

Secondly it's worse than the pope merely being a representative, his titles claim that he is the replacement of Christ on earth..... making him an anti-Christ.

Then there is the cannibalism of the Eucharist, the history of literary frauds, the rewriting of the 10 Commandments, the killing of true believers, the totalitarianism, the worship of the dead, the worship of angels, the relic frauds, the purgatory racketeering, the homosexual cults protected by monasteries and nunneries, the altar boy problem, the devil popes, the Jesuit (Black Pope) problem, the banning of Bibles, the attempts to lawfully regulate all sexual conduct, the syncretism, the support of Nazi Germany in their attempt to eradicate Jews, etc

I find it very difficult from any perspective to find any kind of argument that they are actually Christians or that they even worship the real Mary and Jesus instead of Semiramis and Tammuz..... it's not even a "Christian" invention as the Israelite prophets had the same problem corruption popping up from the start.
ok - we are on the same page then.

Well it does make less sense no? The values that are in the Bible as told through its stories are only useful because they make sense. Like any other piece of fiction, it has to make sense in order for it to be useful. You have certain atheists who just couldn't be bothered to even attempt to try and make sense of it, but that is a different conversation.

You are in the same position as the Catholics you were laughing at. On one hand you want to show everyone that you understand the world through a scientific lens, on the other you have an unshaking belief that a man should be treated as if they are a woman.

So this is an important point. Every religion offers their own version of god and the truth, to be truly atheist you need to disagree with each and every version of truth.
There is also a continuum because not all religions are making the same claims, some might be plausible while others are outright bizarre.
The other problem is that some are more dangerous than others, so we ill be more aggressive towards those groups and ignore others because they are benign.

When people from a religious group point out a verse to argue a point (like hatred to a certain group) I could just argue that their entire religion is nonsense... or I can show how its a bad interpretation anyway. So without disregarding their faith they can shift to a more logical position.

Jesus said: let he who is without sin cast the first stone. So there is no Christian foundation for human judgment of gays.

There are plenty of nonsensical things in both Catholicism and Protestantism. Quick question, were your parents protestants or Catholics or where they also atheists?

How people treat other people in a society isn't something you can prescribe based on a scientific lens. Sure, you can say that a trans woman will never have children but how you react and treat that person in a social context has f*** all to do with science.

Judgement or punishment?

The former claim is illogical since it is not the Christian that judges the sin but God, the latter claim I would agree on since it's God's place to punish not the place of man as man has clearly proven he cannot do it properly.

At the same time it is outright stated in both testaments that gays will be punished by God if they don't repent of it. The specific case you refer to has to do with hypocricy..... making me suspect that He hit on them secretly being guilty of the same thing they wanted to execute her for.... many of them perhaps being being guilty of it with her in the past. On the other hand.... the Law dicates that both parties are to be executed so where was the man?

I would refer to myself as agnostic, but the essence is, no religion has offered me enough/any reason to believe what they say.

Of course, some religions are far more dangerous than others. Scientology and the Branch Davidians spring to mind. I generally have no issue with most Christian denominations that don't try to impress their morality on the rest of society.

When people from a religious group point out a verse to argue a point (like hatred to a certain group) I could just argue that their entire religion is nonsense... or I can show how its a bad interpretation anyway. So without disregarding their faith they can shift to a more logical position.

Am not a believer but I did attend an Anglican church for a number of years, just a genuinely nice group of people that did some volunteer work to help others. I thought their hearts were all in the right place and the only discordant ones were the more "zealous" of them that sometimes made judgments on others who apparently didn't live up to certain things.

Dad was raised in Church of England, but was an atheist. Mother's home religion was Protestantism, but she went to a Catholic school, and was largely non-caring about religion when I was growing up, but is an atheist now. Parents never made much of a show about religion tbh.

And if you want the complete picture, I went to a Methodist school, but realised I was an athiest very early.

If people don't carefully fill the void of religion, they will fill it with a worse religion. Like nature worship, or worship of the state.

You say this as if our social behaviour has absolutely nothing to do with biology. You do not need to murder the truth to be kind to people. If an anorexic person says that you have to treat them as if they are fat, would you indulge them?

I am sure there will be thousands (if not millions) of Islamic Abdul's, Christian John's, Hindu Rajesh's and Jew David's knowing perfectly well how to treat people decently without a explicit 'Thou shall love/hate xyz type of people' verse from their respective fairies.

The point is you can't judge the sins of others because you yourself have sin. The sin is judging others.
Its the most logical thing in the entire bible.
