Anyone with a Woolworths card and VIP get an email about Wrewards giving 40% off Emirates flights. I'm getting an email from [email protected]
Website: https://wrewardsvip.co.za/
Wrewards confirmed they are running a promotion for VIP customers only. Too bad the website doesn't work, would have been interesting to see how it compares to Discovery, Momentum, FNB....

Got it couldn't access the website yet though.

Also recieved it. Would have loved to book my flight to Dubau through it, but seems like it is still in teething stages

Also received it.
Just registered for it

Got the email a few weeks ago. The site just does not work, can never get past the login page
Website starting to work now.... Only problem it does not show the original price and discounted price.... So not sure how much of a saving you actually getting

Are there any local destinations offered or this this just international?

Almost every flight is cheaper on travelstart. Even though there is no discount on Travelstart. So doesnt seem like any benefit here.

I can't seem to log in
Keep saying my email is invalid
Anyone else struggling

Comparing the flights to on WRewards to the exact same flights on Emirates site, I can see they are indeed cheaper through WRewards, so there is the 40% discount there.

Looking at the flights on travelstart, while some of them are cheaper, you get some horrible layover times where as on the WRewards and Emirates sites I was able to get much better ones.

Also, travelstart doesn't list any emirates flights if you happen to like this airline.

So all in all, not too bad once you start comparing apples to apples.

I also did not find a benefit. Google gave me a cheaper price - R800 difference on the same flight...

Guys its a con! I showed them that Travelstart is cheaper for the exact same route and their excuse was.. The 40% is only off base fair blah blah. It didn't even make sense if you add it up. F#ckem

Will give a quick review of my experience with this.

I was looking for a booking with Emirates to the UK. The options were:
1. Emirates direct
2. Discovery Vitality
3. Ebucks Travel
4. looking over deals from various travel search sites
5. WRewards

Ebucks and Discovery wasn't an option, even though I am on max discount with both, I needed tickets for for me the SO, baby and the SO's father. Ebucks will only give for direct family which is not too bad but not for the SO's father. Same with Vitality.

The WRewards offer worked out the best of all options giving discount for family AND friends, so the SO's father.

The website is not the best, but it does work to log the booking, but doesn't actually make a booking. One of the WRewards agents manually put through the booking after making it on the website. The website still doesn't show the booking, but I did receive and email from WRewards with instructions on how the payment will work.

It was very much like using a travel agent. Their responses to emails were prompt and I never needed to make a phone call.

On the day of our flights, the SO's father decided to not go anymore. His timing sucked but what can you do. He is 77 and decided at his age he can't do the long travel distance anymore.

Pitched up at the airport, explained to the check-in employee. He fixed up the tickets and instructed me to also inform the travel agency (WRewards).

After going through check-in, security-check and passport-control at the airport, we had a few minutes while waiting to board. So sent an email to WRewards from my phone about the 1 person cancellation.

There was a R3000 cancellation fee, but at least we received R6999 rand back.

So total booking quote for 3 adults + baby only a month in advance of the flights was +- R33800 according to the website.
Actual deductions from credit card was R30308.
Refund was R6999. I suspect we didn't pay for baby booking and R9999 per adult. Maybe the baby was that R311.

That said, if I didn't go with Emirates, there were other options to travel and pay only R24000 to R26000 depending on the other airline choices, however I didn't like any of them. I prefer Emirates flights, considering this is from Cape Town. If I was in Gauteng, the options get a lot better in my opinion.

Side note, they detected the payment for the flight tickets, and I received an automated mail they detected this and that travel insurance was automatically enabled for the time away.

Happy with the service I received.
Website can do with improvements, but it does allow searching for flights and starting the process.
Communication over email was great, never needed a phonecall.

Will I use it again? Yes, but I will definitely always look at all available options.

I got quotes from Wrewards and Vitality. Wrewards only offers 40% off base fare so the price was considerably higher than Vitality who offers your discount on the base fare and taxes (25% off, at the time of checking)
