Wordpress new ticker

With WP plugins it's a matter of install, test, uninstall, repeat until you find one that works for you.

Check the compatibility, star rating and number of installs.

The one you selected would have failed my star rating and number of installs test.

I don't have much experience with WordPress because I simply dislike it with a passion. That's not to say it's a bad system, but it's architechture just isn't for me. Also, it's very easy to make your installation insecure by not carefully auditing the plugins you install. There are so many plugins that have loopholes in them - it's quite scary.

Anyways, I'm sure someone else may be able to help you with your crashed installation. Try and provide some more information here so that someone can do so. "Light bulb" moments are also a possibility, provided you give a bit more information, such as what errors may be displaying, speed issues, etc.

If you ever feel like playing around with a different system, give ProcessWire a try. Slight learning curve, but ample amounts of flexibility. Unfortunately, it does not have a ticker plugin. Then again, you can just use a normal jQuery ticker and get ProcessWire to provide it with the necessary data in the template.

Make a nice banner. Place it where you want. (Using CSS or w.e)
Then you could always play around with the <marquee> xyz </marquee> tag and place this under the banner.

Try deleting /home/*****/public_html/wp-content/plugins/breaking-news-ticker.
 
This ^ . Don't browse to the website itself and try to edit from there. Use the admin pages
