Hello all,

I am running into a problem when I test my friend's data SIM from Afrihost on a the Huawei K3770.
Using Huawei Mobile partner V23**, the modem can see the MTN connection, but cannot establish a connection.

I've tried different APN settings, and manually set the frequency, but still cannot establish a connection.
Thinking that it may be incompatible with a MTN SIM card, I tested the Hauwei K3770 with my own MTN SIM card, and it works. Speedtest show the coverage in my area is brilliant, getting ~6mbit.

Does any one have any idea why it works with my phone's MTN sim, but not with the MTN sim card from afrihost?
Any help appreciated.

**Did not install the vodafone software on the PC.

If APN is internet it shouldn't work, if APN is afrihost it should establish connection.

I tested mine (Afrihost sim) using Huawei E352 and could not connect on MTN desboard.

Strange indeed, are you guys sure that you're entering the correct Afrihost APN info into the device?

Strange yes, I just tried with Vodaphone (software) and just created a new profile with correct (afrihost) APN and works perfectly. This is a K4305 modem tho, but can't see why the K3770 won't connect.

Hey all,

Thanks for the help.
I ordered my Afrihost mobile data on Sunday (15 Sept) - hopefully it'll arrive soon :D

Will test my sim when it arrives and provide an update :)

this is what i did with my e220, install vodacom software cause it will install the drivers for the modem, then remove modem and delete vodacom software from program files, plug the modem into a different usb slot so that u see it is installing new device, open whatever dashboard you are using and it should work fine. thats what worked for me after lots of trial and error

I actually forgot to try it out now that I have the sim :p

Been using the Mifi supplied by afrihost which has higher speed than 7.2mbps.
