Van der wath and abdullah shouldn't be anywhere near this squad. Happy that ingram,miller and theron were picked hopefully they make the final 15.

South Africa have named four uncapped players in their initial squad of 30 for the ICC World Twenty20 to be played in the Caribbean in April and May 2010.

The four include batsman Colin Ingram and fast bowler Rusty Theron from the Warriors, batsman David Miller from the Dolphins and fast bowler Ethy Mbhalati of the Titans.

The final squad of 15 will be named in March.

Rusty Theron is awesome, especially during the death, ask me a Cobra supporter :)
Colin Ingram has lots of potential and David Miller has been so impressive for the struggling Dolphins. Problem is, will these guys get a go?
On a side note, there's lots of T20 about, domestic, then IPL, then this WC, then Champions League... not complaining though ;)
 
Good prelim squad. Just hope the selectors don't chicken out when it comes to selecting the final squad.

Pick players on current performance and include a mix of experience and youth.

I agree with your opinions on all 5 of those players, especially Abdulla, he hasn't done anything this year
 
Not kallis

Farking duminy again!!!!!!!!!!!! The only 2 players in world t20 that can plod singles when the run rate is 11 with 6 batsmen to come :(

You do know kallis was the top run scorer at the last 20/20 world cup in england and one of the top scorers at the ipl in SA?? Duminy will come right.

You do know kallis and duminy threw away the game against pakistan by knocking singles when the run rate was 11 with big hitters to come, they never even looked to smash the ball. Sorry but being a high run scorer does not change that he can and does lose t20 games for us.

Leave kallis out, duminy maybe but kallis and pro20 makes me sick.

That was one match which they misjudged, I dont spose you saw Kallis at the end of the innings today?
 
Nice looking squad. Red is out for me. Green are perfectly suited to the game and potential game winners.

Dont think they have a squad to win. Its the same losers everytime. Anyone had a look at the Aussie team? New players, exciting players! I say its between Pakis, India and Aus. SL and More so Afghanistan the dark horses.
Sorry but I dont see SA making the final.

Yes i did and it was a great innings but he cannot do that when we are chasing for some reason. It was not just that match i have seen kallis destroy many a run chase because of his slow batting during key periods in the game. He has changed a bit since he got dropped but we shall see what happens when we chase.

You do know without kallis 70 not out we wouldn't have gotten close at all in that game. Blame the real stroke players/hitters who failed the side in that game. JK did his job in that game and tried his best.

Disagree with you on vdm, on current form he should be ahead of botha.

If I were to pick a 15 this would be my side:

12.Pietersen
13.Amla
14.A.Morkel
15.M.Morkel

Not sure if that squad meets the colour requirements but that would be the squad I would take to the world 20/20.

Who's Miller?
 
Abdulla is a fat useless bowler who never play any t20 for the dolphins this season. Please explain how he is in shortlist.
He cannot keep himself fit for more than 3 overs.....

Dave Miller, young 20 year old from the dolphins. Great finisher, scored a great 90 from 44 balls for the dolphins hte pro 20. Averaged 53 in the pro 20 and 40.66 in the pr040. Hiy 15 sixes in the pro 40 with a strike rate of 125. Also hit one of the biggest 6's in the pr0 20 at 108 metres.

Might be a tournament too son for him but I would take a chance on him.
 
Yeah,miller needs to play.Ill be rooting for afghanistan anyway,cos we wont stand a chance with sum of those players in that squad.

I would have had Ingram in for Kleinveldt. We have enough bowlers...

I have no confidence in Gibbs, even though it would be nice if JP got a game for the Mumbians. Would much rather have Dave Miller there,
