World 20/20 protea preliminary squad

"Graeme Smith (capt), Jacques Kallis (vice-capt), Loots Bosman, Johan Botha, Mark Boucher (wk), AB de Villiers, JP Duminy, Herschelle Gibbs, Rory Kleinveldt, Charl Langeveldt, Albie Morkel, Morne Morkel, Dale Steyn, Juan Theron, Roelof van der Merwe."

The squad looks to have decent balance but I do worry about the inclusion of JP and Kleinveldt. JP has not impressed at all in recent times and should be given a bit of time away from the internationals to sort himself into the form which got him selected in the first place. He is a quality player and just needs to some expert TLC to get his mind right again.

So to the end of May 2010 we look for SA to bring home some silverware.

Not a bad squad, I would have loved to Ingram play, but there is a lot of quality in the batting.

The mistake was letting Duminy come in to bat with Kallis. Mickey had this bad proccess wereby batsmen would only bat in the place that they were put down for. In T20 you need the batting order to be fluid, as the game changed easily, and you need the right batsman at the right time. I say we jsut don't let the 2 of them bat together, and we'll be fine. Also, JP may not even make the team at the moment.

Not at all, i just hope they open with him like he has been doing but no doubt he will dropped down the order and i will stand by my previous post. I really hope kallis can play like he has been for us. I don't care who is in the team as long as they do not hampers us like kallis and jp who lost us that semi against pakistan. That i will never forget and maybe it makes me biased because it was the most frustrating game i have ever watched. It kills me to watch 2 players lose us a match.

I would rather we lose because we ran out of wickets than watch 2 players plod singles when the run rate is 11. I think more than anything that game made me dislike kallis and jp heavily because we had big hitters to come. I cannot put into words the anger i felt that day.

The Pakis were bowling very well it wasnt Kallis fault.

I dont think Morne should be in the team, hes weak. Fat Abdullah would be a better option and he can bat.

Agreed. If they really had to pick another bowler I would have gone philander instead of kleinveldt.
 
I think ingram needs to get a chance.Altho im a dolphin,definately leave abdulla out.
