Undoubtedly they have, I'm a big Owen fan. Still doesn't give them the right to act the way they do. It's a team game afterall, one can have the best striker in the world, but without a decent midfield he's basically useless.
Another reason I'm not too fond of England is that their team strategy follows on from the Premier League, and it's too predictable (go down the wing and cross and defend on the rebound). It's been the same strategy for as far as I can remember, and in my opinion makes for a really boring game to watch. I'd rather have the team I'm supporting provide an exciting game and lose than have them play a defensive game. There's a reason why Brazil always does well. While they do concede goals, they have an attacking strategy and manage to pull it off in the end. All while providing good entertainment. Same goes for Italy. Germany's trademark is precision. And Englands trademark? Defense
