World's most stressed countries

Is it ironic that the two largest economies in Africa is at the top of the list?

Stress, imo, is a state of mind that is not directly attributable to the factors measured in this methodology.

Are bushmen more stressed than air traffic controllers for example? You can live a happy life without a cent to your name.

Carrying on with bushmen vs ATC (note I strongly suspect the average bushmen is happier than many of us), corruption doesn't affect one more than the other and income inequality, GDP per capita, unemployment favours the ATC, as does life expectancy probably given one has better access to modern medicine.

The only factors in that list that could be favouring bushmen is homicide rates (when you literally live in the middle of nowhere with nothing to your name odds are nobody wants to kill you) and urban air pollution, given that they don't live in urban areas and experience much less air pollution.

Yet I'll maintain bushmen are less stressed, so either I am entirely wrong or this methodology is.

Having lived in a country near the top of that list and the country near the bottom of that list I can say it's a fair reflection of the state of affairs.

You're citing outliers.

When you think about the average population, the factors listed in this study are what worry us.

Why did they not factor in things such as "Quality of Meat", "Hotness of Ladies", "Weather" etc. We would have at least stood a chance..

I find it ironic that we live in one of the most stressed countries yet it is run by one of the least stressed presidents.

That is exactly why we are so "stressed".

How stressed to you think Robert Mugabe is? Probably sipping a Pina-Colada at the Vic falls as we speak, hyper-inflation, what? Aint nobody got time for that...

I'm using examples to demonstrate a general perception, the methodology is flawed, look at the list, do you honestly believe South Africa is the 2nd most stressed country in the world? With Turkey sitting only 32nd on the list while being basically an active war zone? OR Brazil in 17th place while there are riots in the streets and the general mood is far worse than here.

I agree the factors listed are what worries the average person, but it is a flawed way to measure the stress levels in a country as demonstrated by nations with known higher stress levels sitting so far below us on the list.

Maybe 'stressed' is wrong word to be using... maybe something like 'frustrated'?

Or perhaps ENTROPY i.e. level of disorder

We might be less stressed by certain factors due to predisposition, therefore pretty relaxed about the thought of being hijacked or mugged as its simply part of life as opposed to some pandemic like for example Ebola..
