Worldwide BP Protest - 12 June - 45 Cities

Besides petrol in SA comes from the same source in each region. I think Western Cape gets it from Caltex - so Shell, Engen, Total, BP, etc will all have the same petrol - excluding the additives - which IMO are all the same.

Very pointless.

The people suffering most from these protests is the independent BP garage owners who also has a family with mouths to feed.

There are a lot of soultions to the problem in the gulf, BP is just looking for one that will enable them to use the oil pipes again after the problem has been solved. That's worth protesting against.

we demand they supply. They have said that all money from the well would be put back to help the enviroment.

Isn't that also in our best interests? After all we want to use less Middle Eastern Oil and besides oil is a finite resource. If they mess up this well - will they be able to use this particular oil field again in the future?

The beauty of fungible commodities.

Exactly. There must be another way to get the message across to BP HQ without inconveniencing their innocent workers.

I'm all for a BP boycott, but NOT if their innocent workers and employees have to suffer. Damagement must suffer as it was a decision from damagement to use seawater instead of drilling mud which caused the explosion.

This is idiotic.

You protest against BP, by not buying your petrol from BP garages, which are all privately owned, BP is a franchise after all. The owners of the garages by their petrol by the litre in bulk from BP and than resell it, I might be wrong here. Either way its not the big-wigs at BP that suffer its the poor guy that has bought into the BP franchise.
