Ok, so this is a bit old - waiting for the new figures to come in the next few days or so.
Worldwide sales figures ending 18th July via N4G.
PS3 down by 12%,we can probably expect a further decline this week, no reason why MGS4 will increase sales for the PS3.
MGS4 peaked quite early actualy with reports saying that it is in bargain bins already.
360 outselliing the PS3 with an increase of 46%.
Could the multiplatform news of FFXIII have influenced this spike?
Most certainly.
We can expect further increases in the next few months I think.
Expect some major spikes in September, October and November, from here on out called the Golden Triangle.
Some expected games:
Fallout 3
Fable 2
Last Remnant
Infinite Undiscovery
Gears of War
Too Human
The JRPG's Last Remnant and Infinite Undiscover will increase further sales for the 360 hardware in anticipation for FFXIII.
PS2 owners dont have to buy the PS3 anymore and might opt for the less expensive 360.
The BD still has some selling power though, so this might push sales for the PS3 in the next few weeks.
