Yeah, shouldn't have been a red. My initial reaction was straight red but watching the replays you can see that he tried to pull out and actually got some of the ball. Harsh decision but from the ref's perspective, in real-time it looked pretty bad. He should have consulted with his linesman though in hindsight...

Lol, for once we can agree on something. That ref is a joke and he is clearly a ManYoo fan. Have you noticed that he almost seems to smile whenever he makes his decisions? Freaky schit. I keep waiting for him to shout, "You've just been punked!". How he is still a ref is beyond me. Furthermore, how he is still alive is more surprising.
This is the second time this season he's given a dreadful decision Manure's way. IIRC against Bolton Ronaldo just fell over, nobody not even Ronaldo appealed for a penalty but the moron gave it
Last season Liverpool vs Chelsea a Chelsea defender barged in Arebeloa(IIRC) and he gave a penalty. Most ridiculous penalty ever..... until the Ronaldo one against Bolton that is

+1 there's a Man United thread for that. Yeah bad decision by him, think it was more a "on the spur of the moment" decision. Should've consulted with the linesman imo.

Decent article about how poor Rob Styles is. I agree that he is, in general poor, and that his previous blunders have been many and significant, however, the sending off of Paul Robinson, I do not believe worthy of such derision and critique.
It has since been rescinded by an FA Panel, however players have been sent off and had their red cards stand for much much less. From the ref's angle it looked like a red card to me. I have seen the replay countless times and it still looks like a wild, two-footed lunge which does not win the ball. Because it is.
Just imagine if that had been Wayne Rooney or Paul Scholes flying in. Rescinded? What are the chances?

The Lampard red was wrong as well but at first sight it looked a lot worse than it was. It will probably be rescinded as well.

What points? Chelsea were never in this game from start to finish. They'd have been lucky to hold on for an undeserved draw.
