Hi guys.

I got home today and saw a bunch of telkom boards saying there is Fibre in my area. I went onto the Telkom coverage map and sure enough, we're covered, Yay! Took them long enough though. So knowing that I went to look at some prices and found a rather good deal in my opinion, which fits perfect in my price range.

So what I would like to know is, is it worth it? I'm currently on a 4meg uncapped adsl account, month to month and I'm not too keen on contracts, but for that price it ain't too bad, plus I'll be getting a new router and wifi extender. And how much of a difference will there actually be compared to my adsl line? Would it make a huge difference or not really?

Thanks

With fibre you get the uplink speed advertised come rain or shine.. and half the latency. So worth it yes.

Telkom FTTH can be month to month, contract is only if you want the free router.

Fibre all the way, there is no crappy decaying copper infrastructure to worry about.

Yes to fibre. Even my 4 Mb fibre line is better than a faster ADSL line.
