I set out to get my phone unbranded lastweek, found several solutions, but... ofcourse i wanted it done immediately... so went the well recommended route on the www.topsony.com site which is wotanserver.com
They required me to download their program which i did, install the necessary drivers and get the program working.
First the program chirped that my "erom" is out of date and needs to be updated, but to proceed i need access to the server. So... The only way to get access to the server is to purchase a credit which i did via the site on Paypal. The Program did its thing, updated the "erom" after which it told me to restart the flashing procedure. I did what i needed to do to the phone and clicked start. and shortly after the program failed on Vista and Vista said program has to terminate. !!!...
I went back into the program and noticed that my credit i purchased for 7 euro is gone. I figured okay, This is most likely because it sorted out my "erom", however i got a little susspicious at this point.
I then desided rather play it safe and get the stuff installed and working on XP just incase i have another episode with the program. Program keeps dying on XP. Installed it on my other puters - same problem. All in all the program gets further in Vista than in XP. So i fugred, hell, maybe the erom update is the reason, purchase another credit....
Started the program again and DID IT AGAIN.
I mailed the support team and got a reply from a guy named david who asked me to submit my logs and he said he would help me....
This was one week ago - nothing. I have mailed him several times - Nothing.
I've opened a thread on the www.topsony.com thread and have since noticed that the thread has been removed (and no, I didnt threaten or curse or throw my toys as i wanted to see if this guy would reply.)
I can just hear you other forumites say "waste of money" and "you got what you pay for" - I don't really care.
I opened this thread purely to warn anybody else here who wish to flash their Sony Ericsson phone to avoid this bunch - you may end up the same way.
Same goes for the Davinci crowd - be careful - you may end up worse off!
