How many times have i heard this line I HAVE X NUMBER lvl 70s omw.
 
Wow, beater? Only time will tell...
LoTR, AoC, etc have failed already after it was hyped up to be better than wow.
Blizzard will create the game that will kill off wow. They were new to this field of gaming 3 years ago, and the fact that they have 10s of millions of subscribers till this day is a big statement.

Indeed, but don't play all inocent now... How many chars did you create just to post in the forums at level 1 to ask how will this look at level 70 etc...

You know we can sit here all day saying my game is better than yours because of blah blah blah and blah.
Blizzard made a great game but i had enougth of endless grinding the same mobs
for 2 years.And i kinda hate the feature were 20000 people can stand ontop of each other.And that you can run thru someone like hes a ghost.
Can name alot of reasons of what i like more in WAR than WOW.
But even if i name 100000 reasons i would not pull a WOW adict from his game.
I know this why?Cause i was one.6 months ago there was no way in hell i would have left wow for what ever game i did not even play the new and i have to add GOOD single player games cause of WOW.

Really think we should stop to compare.
And let everyone play what ever the hell they want.
Blizards got many fan boys like this even if a better game comes out these fanboys will stick with them.

They do make great games Starcraft i was crazy about even still play it today cant wait for Starcraft2.
Diablo(Cause compared to Baldurs Gate and Fallout 2 Diablo sucked hard
But in the end Diablo was the popular one by most cause of mindless hack and slash and it got more media exposure) at all.

Mythic has been making MMOs way before Blizzard Ultima online was one of the most popular MMos way before WOW.
And the Warhammer universe is older than WOW.

Like i said lets rather drop it.....

I'm kidding. Each to their own ... It's nice to see competitive games coming out. There's nothing worse than a monopoly.

I don't see why folks are fighting about new games coming out? You should be glad that they are coming out at all. If its not for you (as with me, sticking to wow for now) then so be it. I left guild wars for WoW but I still think guild wars is an excellent game & I wont have a single bad thing to say to anyone sticking to GW instead of a new game.

It's fine to say I prefer X over Y, but then tabulate it in an informative manner like we did in the GW vs WoW section so it educate those who are new to the scene and not sure which to choose.

I still don't have enough info on WAR to decide if i'm going to try it out and I haven't seen anyone come up with a proper breakdown of the pro's and cons on a comparable level.

The screenshots that I have seen have not impressed me so far, but it isn't a deciding factor considering i went from GW's beautiful character depiction to WoW's irritating block (batman face) layout.

I like War - been playing it when i'm not raiding and its fun!!!

I'm only lev 7 at the mo, so no real opinion yet, and i believe you can only realy have an oppinion once you spend the same amout of time on both.

Boom, lets talk in a years time, to check if you still play war - like you said you played WOW for 2 years, if you can stick it out for 2 years in war then you know its better.

How excited where you about WOW when it just came out - how many of this discussion did you have with other people, saying how ***** their game was and how great this "new" thing called WOW is?

2 Things I know for sure - some or other time you will also get bored with war and you will also find that idiot little 13 year old running around annoying you.

Very true dude i get bored with something fast thats why io had so many alts.
But you can always have the best of both worlds :)
I may get tired of WAR in 6 months then play wow then back to WAR again just the type of guy i am.

Good point the whole WAR vs WOW thing is dumb.

Why should I drop it? If you are going to compare wow to war around every corner? I did not make the orignal statement that war is the new wow? I am prepared to give war it fair share of exposure time before I will condem it as a bad game. But for now, I just don't see it capable of outlasting wow. For war to last longer they will introduce the grinding aspects to the game. How they do these grinding parts will be the difference in the two games.

Now that is the first true thing you have said. The comparison between the two is dumb, it is two different games. In fact I would rather compare Guildwars with war...

Well, that wont work either. GW is free, WAR is sub based. Its compared with WoW because WoW is the most popular...everyone knows about it, so if you say "WAR has X in it like WoW does", people will understand. It doesnt work though, WoW has been round for 4 years.

True, but when comparing the game play and objective of the game, Wow and war is two completely different games. People are trying to make one off as better than the other, and for some war will be better, but sume of us like half life more than wow as well.
War may become the new PVP mmo champion to which future games will be compared. But for it taking the place of wow as most poppular mmo? I doubt that. Not even free games really compete with wow. They don't even have to count the wow pirate server players...

I agree, although Mythic never said they wanted to compete with Blizzard. They are happy with #2
