At the moment I'm strung between BT Games and Take 2. The prices are identical, but my experience with either company is very limited or not at all. All I remember was there were some hiccups with the pre-ordering of TBC here in SA when it came out. So what can you guys tell, and who do you put your trust for a speedy, reliable delivery?

Ive only had experience from take 2, And they have been nothing short of spectacular. Im based in jhb, and they are in Cape town. As for BT im afraid i cant help ya mate. Best of luck in choosing :D

Friends of mine have used both, here in Cape Town, and no complaints that i know of on either side. So it depends on where u r?

Have used BTGames a few times. Nice communication from their side re:last minute changes usually as far as I can remember. Never used Take2 before.

take2 has had the fastest delivery times to my house, and I have also had some good experiences with product replacements.

I will be queing outside BT Games Tyger Valley Centre to get my copy at midnight as I did for TBC. The BT folk there were helpful and efficient :)

Why dont you just leave 10 bucks deposit and preorder it then you dont need to sleep outside the shop.

I personally gonna wait for the launch date and upgrade online, if its not available from launch then I will get a key via gamersloot. I actually dont have much choice as I play on the US Servers.

Pre- orderd from BT games , and had them upgrade my std edition to the Collectors Edition.

Now just need to sit back and wait

Have they sent an email saying we can do that?

I also pre-ordered my std edition copy and got an email on the day the release date was announced, saying they will let us know if we can upgrade.

Will be preordering from BT Games. Been using them for over 2 years now and never had a problem. Their courier is awesome with next day stuff (from head office to CPT). I am actually keen to know if they would deliver on the 12th rather than the 13th. Nothing wrong with having it a day before so as the world server shuts down and comes back up you are ready to climb in there with the crowds :)

Not too fussed though, I am in beta so I have seen everything there is to see :) I am just keen to start levelling asap :)

Collector's edition info here

Basically the same as the TBC collector's: A book, a mouse pad, a DVD, a CD, a pet, some trading game cards.
Seems the pet will be a baby frost wyrm-version very similar to TBC's Netherwhelp collector pet.

I mailed BT about whether they will offer the Collector's Edition and they replied "Yes we will. We are just waiting for confirmation on pricing and quantity allocated for RSA." Nothing on their site yet.

With TBC the normal expansion was about R250-R300 and the Collector's Edition was about R800-ish. The night after the launch Collector's Editions were selling on eBay for $500 - $800 :)

I have used BT games for pre-orders twice before (TBC and GTA IV)
Both of these were big launches with huge anticipation and they handled both expertly.
All conventional vendors were instantly out of stock but the BT pre-orders worked fine.
The safest option is still to physically pick up your pre-ordered copy from your designated branch within 24 hours of the official launch time.

With TBC I went to their Brooklyn Mall branch to collect it at midnight.
They handled the turmoil of impatient gamers quite professionally and they had the logistics sorted to ensure that they there were enough Collector's Editions and expansions (at least, this was the case at Brooklyn Mall).

It felt a bit geeky to rock up at the Mall at 00:00 to buy a game but turns out I ran into some old school/university friends who also play WoW, was a great way to re-establish contact and meet some more South African WoW players irl...

Never used Take 2 but only heard good things about them.

Nothing on their site about Collector's yet, did you mail them about it?
