I have a 1 Mbps capped connection. However, I believe the base station is getting really saturated - the connection used to be fine a couple of months ago but these days browsing around 20:00 is really terrible (tops out at around 350 kbps - used to be able to get around 700 kbps).
So I'm thinking of ditching iBurst - except that I have no real alternatives. No ADSL in the area, no decent WISP, Neotel Wimax too far from the base station. About the best options I have are Cell C's connection (currently using it as a backup with great speeds) and Telkom Mobile (so-so results but can probably get an external antenna).
So as a last effort - will getting an external antenna improve my connection? The signal strength where the modem currently sits is around 60%.
