Neotel's coverage map doesn't seem to load for me so I'm assuming either a) it's down or more likely b) my company's firewall/security is blocking it.

Could someone please check out the end of the road Pommern Lane (Avoca/Effingham Heights) for me?

I live in a complex at the end of that road, it doesn't seem to be on any maps yet though.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Inf3rn0,

Looks like your 1/2 lucky.

Unable to paste the maps in here, but to the end of Pommern lan, to the left and right, their is coverage for voice and basic data services, so I would assume that means EVDO 1x. High speed internet EVDO RevA or is it 0, is not available.

Nevertheless, if it is you only option, try and borrow and old Neoflex router and test. If still desperate, get poynting's antenna , specially made for Neotel, then you could enjoy Neotel's 15G per month for R149(excl modem). I did, and I'm NOT in coverage. No hassles.

Refresh, I was looking at PREPAID OPTIONS. If you go POSTPAID option, it seems the only coverage you can get is Wimax. Good if you into gaming & netflix. Hope you stay on the top floor!!

Thanks for the help SideWinder, just to clarify though, does the orange mean that I am covered? If it does then I have a 50/50 chance of actually having some coverage. I'm really looking for an uncapped package. I guess my best bet is to call them and see if someone can come out and check my coverage.

It is Neotel
Assume by default you have no coverage regardless of what colour is on their coverage maps.
Not trolling, I just find every single one of their services crap and I could walk from where I live to their offices.

Agreed, coverage, or no coverage, you have to test. Then you could still get a crappy service. As stated, I'm happy, specially considering the price. As Uncapped is required, your only option is Wimax. First test is to find the tower which transmits the signal (your sh/could be south-south west from you) and see if you can see it. If you have any trees in the way to that direction, you are going to battle getting a service. Btw, Wimax also gives you a static IP:-)

Lived666, all SP's in SA fall in that category. Anybody can find good/bad in SP's. For me it is a :-). No LTE from any SP is :-(.

Thanks for the replies, I've called through and apparently my area is covered for WiMax and they'll be sending someone through to check the signal in my unit before I sign up for it.

I've got my WiMax 2Mbps, and so far I'm pleasantly surprised at how good the service is. Had it for 2 weeks now and it seems that I get a solid 2Mbps all the time.
