Would switching to VDSL be worth it

So currently I have a 4mbps ADSL connection because that is the most I can get in my area. Worse still my SNR on good day maxes out at 7.5dB downstream.
According to Telkoms site I can get 4mbps VDSL, would it make any difference to my life buying a VDSL router and switching or should I just give up and accept my fate?
Fibre I don't see happening in my life time and I'm not signing a 24 month contract for Telkom LTE. I'm in CT southern suburbs if that helps.

This is a first about them offering 4Mbps at VDSL. This normally starts at upto 20Mbps & 40Mbps. Can you screenshot where it says that omitting any personal details for us .

Thanks MickZA, their page being messed up would make sense then. So looking at the threads posted the only way for me to truly know is to get a VDSL router and cross fingers.
