Hi everyone, i live in a very small complex, about 7 units in all. All separately owned. My unit is the first one you see when you enter the complex. Anyway, it looks like the chairperson of the complex ain't interested in fibre. You know what old people are like. He did however give consent and said that if I want fibre installed in my unit he won't have a problem with that. Can this happen though? Also, I'd like to add to that the whole area around the complex is live with fibre it's only the complex that isn't.

Please any advise would be welcome. Thanks.

You'll have to do some convincing with whoever the FNO is, it might be possible though. Another route is try to get the chairperson to agree to let them install fibre to the whole complex, for an incentive tell him it raises property value.

How about you approach the other owners and get them to also sign up. If 6 out of 7 want Fibre the chairperson can do squat.
You can also organize a meeting and have a vote and get rid of him, why do people think chairperson in complexes are untouchable?
Just remind him he is the chair person of trustees voted in by you guys, he's not a god, owner of the entire complex.

Most FNO's will not service only your unit. There are hard technical reasons for this.

Feel free to PM me the details, if it's in a Vuma rollout area, let me chat to the man. We are very good at convincing people to let us build.

I don't know what old people are like please tell me

I really do not not see the problem. He gave his consent for you to get fiber. Will it be a all or nothing deal. Then I cannot see how you can expect all the other property owners to sign up just because you want it.
I am a pensioner and mobile broad band suits me perfectly. I cannot pack up a fiber optic connection and take it with me in my caravan when I travel around so its useless to me. If I were living in your complex I would definitely not be interested to sign up for something I can only use part of the time.

All of the people don't need to sign up, the chairperson won't give consent for the FNO to build the network to the complex.
