One of my molars chipped a few months ago and I left it unchecked, so the hole got bigger to the point where it struck the nerve. So I went to the dentist and she removed the nerves (if I knew she was hot I'd have gone a long time ago) and gave me a temporary filling (I feel dirty being on the receiving end)

Now I have a choice, do I keep the tooth or do I pull it? Keeping it would obviously cost more and there's no guarantee it would chip again or become worse. Pulling it is also okay because I still have all my teeth so I have enough to go around (her words)

What would you do? I don't care about the cost of fixing it, just wondering which way I should go. Pulling it is obviously cheaper.

Keep it, get it fixed. If you get old and they start to fall out you would be much happier.

Get rid of it. It might cause major probs in the future like mine.

Sometimes you can keep most of the tooth i.e. roots etc and they can just build a cap to fit over it. Check if its an option. Might be a bit expensive though.

Had exactly the same problem.

I kept mine. They just filled it and shaped it with rock hard stuff.

And let this be a lesson to all. Even the smallest hole in your tooth. Rather go and get it fixed now, before it becomes a problem.

Leave it for now. If it breaks again you can either get a crown or get it pulled. But for now its fine.

Waiting for the doc to send me options, doubt I'd be able to leave it with the temporary filling I have

Keep it if you can. Right now, it might seem easier to yank it, but when you get old you gonna miss it. Also if you lose other teeth around this one you can use it as the base of a bridge, if its gone, then you need to get a post or go toothless..
