Would you recommend purchasing 2nd hand hardware on line?

With anything electronic I would say stay away from second hand stuff.
 
I've bought a few 2nd hand lappies,not had a problem yet. Make sure your seller's reputable and test the thing
 
I buy plently from carbonite.co.za... awesome value in the secondary market because of early adopters.. and majority of the guys are trustworthy
