I have heard from a few players that to unlock the true potential of WoW you need to get hold of 3'rd party addons. I am hesitant to blindly download them because you never that they dont have spyware.
Can anyone list some of the Addons that they use and where to get them? Would appreciate it.
You don't really need the add-ons to unlock anything - there are plenty of very skilled players who use the default UI. I used to have tons of add-ons and recently returned to using a standard Blizzrd UI with exception of very few add-ons, and I'm doing just fine. But in any case, I would recommend this site -
http://ui.worldofwar.net - a lot less clutter and much less confusing than curse-gaming. Below is the list of add-ons that I would recommend:
Titan Panel 3.0.5
MobInfo-2, v3.17 (includes MobHealth) - records mob stats like HP, loot % drops, etc
Recipe Radar - to find all recipe vendors in specific area
TinyTip - improves the crappy Blizzrd tooltip
Scrolling Combat Text v5.31 and SCT - Damage 2.22 - floating combat text, again huge improvement over default Blizzrd UI
OmniCC - cooldown counts
X-Perl UnitFrames 2.2.0a - one of the best unit/target/raid frame mods available
MonkeyQuest v2.5.1 or Extended QuestLog v3.6.7 - improves your quest log interface
Outfitter - best mod for swapping equipment quick and easy.
KLHThreatMeter - useful for tanking and on aggro sensitive fights
For raiding get CT_Raid pack from
www.ctmod.net
If you interested in damage/healing tracking and stats, get DamageMeters from either site, or I personally use Recap which is much better.
Cheers
