 I was raiding last night and fully expecting to be serially disconnected as usual on the usual iBurst connection that would appear to just be unable to keep up.

But I wasnt....

It worked beautifully. I had a fair ping (under 500ms all the time - around 380 on average) and only got disconnected once the entire night when a large amount of numbers were flying around.

So did anything change to create such a dramatic improvement is what I'm wondering? Or was last night a fluke night. I've noticed that from a connectivity perspective, things are excellent on a Friday night, or a Saturday afternoon (when no one seems to be playing WoW) but busy nights like Sun-Thur are a killer. Wednesday was perfect.

I'd like to be able to attribute this to something so please let me know what could have caused the dramatic improvement!

Thanks,
Mark

Unless you are on static IP, you might have had a fluke night.

Though I havent had any problems or disconnects at all.

You playing experience and latencies do get better close to the weekend after wednesdays. My latency would drop below 300 during that time :)

im not on a static as you dont get these in Cape Town apparently, and apparently in Cape Town there isnt supposed to be a problem. I'm very close to the Gardens tower - like virtually underneath it - and I've suffered for a long time - recently though it has gotten better.

If it was a lucky night, then what determines this luck? There really has to be a reason :P

Ive known exchange congestion problems before and they are prolific throughout the world, so this really wouldnt surprise me. It's remarkable how at 17:30pm you can often notice a massive degradation in service as everyone comes home and fires up :P Still, I'm sure half the Cape Town iBurst population couldnt have bailed out in the space of a week so perhaps there is yet more too it.
