Has anyone got this right in linux? I want to connect to a german server of mine via an ssh tunnel to bring down my latency. Problem is I run wow on wine. In windows I would use applications like freecap + putty combo.

Ive tried tsocks, and while ie6 seems to be usable through the proxy, wow just disconnects me.

Im simply running the command ssh -D 9190 [email protected]. The socks 5 proxy it creates works fine.

One of the reasons I'm still running 7 on my home pc, I just couldn't get it to work.
As far as I can tell the answer lies with iptables, never got around to it though.
Treat you ssh tunnel as a transparent proxy pehaps? redirect traffic directed at IP x to port y or something.

Maybe something like http://www.debian-administration.org/articles/595 could work

Lemme know if it works!

Ill try it tonight Tinavu, hopefully its better, but afaik, its got to be able to run wow in wine. (meaning it has to run on wine, and then it has to be able to call up wow in wine and then push it through the proxy.)

pfffffft, you're doing it wrong. :p ( jk )

I need to get the client from you sometime. ;)

What happened to the bike? :(

It had minor faults that was going to cost me too much to repair. Well I wasn't willing to spend half the amount of money I paid for the darn thing in making it look pretty. :p So sold it when I got a good offer for it. Bought a Samsung R580 eee leptop with the "profit". :D Now ill acquire a new bike or car after i'm done with licencing. :o
