Since my ADSL is still somewhere in the line and possibly a few more weeks away, I decided to try out WoW over dial-up. Sofar I have to say I am pretty much impressed with the quality of gameplay one can get through dial-up! I started of with 450ms ping and it went up to about 850ms averaging out at about 750ms. Even though this is not even close to where I would have liked it to be, it was still playable and strangely there were no spikes!
In crowded areas (towns) the dial-up did show its limitations but not sure yet whether this was due to the dial-up or me playing on my laptop (have no modem on my PC). Question would be if I switch to my PC where my fps are above 70 and game loading is much faster, if the game play would even be playable in towns?
Played with my 65 hunter and she had no problem killing 3-4 same level creatures as were always the case. Started a BE pala on twilight's hammer also and part from the delay before healing, melee fights went quite smooth!
lvl 1 - 6 in 45 mins
Guess I am a wow addict to even attemt dial-up play
