Wow patch 3.0.8 Rouge Useless?

I've been reading a lot of threads about how much rouges got nerfed...

Now I'm busy playing with a lvl 32 hooman rouge, I used to play ferral druid.

Is rouges useful for anything at lvl 80 except lock picking? I don't want to spend time, effort and gold on a character that isn't worth anything. Please can someone that knows the rouge class well elaborate a bit on this? I'm feeling a bit cynical :(

Lol. Reading that post again... /slap myself but gimme a break... I'm tired I hardly got any sleep last night after they broke in... *Yawn*

Another thing.

To be a very good and respected rogue in wow. pls Spell it as "Rogue".... Rouge is a lipstick :D
 
Omg ppl, Blizz have admitted that rogues are a little underpowered atm, and they will be fixing the problem.
 
Underpowered no. At their best no.

And yes rouge is useless for cumptergames,better used on women

And sorry guys I know I suck crap at spelling but its not easy when you dyslexic and all...

Just wanted to correct you. Cos if you type Rouge in WoW they will rip you a new one ;)

Thanks chief.

My eye fidgeted everytime I read someone typing "LF rouge to open [khorium lockbox]" etc.


As for rogues, ye we were nerfed and have to share all our gear drops with EVERYONE - even though they have their own that we can't use.

However, we're not useless by a long shot. Last night in Naxx I topped the dps vs retardins, boomkins, mages and hunters - as mutilate dagger spec.
 
Haha ^^ thanks I get dissed on a regular basis tho with wow not having spell check lol, you learn to laugh about it... :D

I'm surprised they still on top of hunters with everyone going for survival spec now that apparently does massive amounts of damage. Then again I'm noob when it comes to playing rogue hence this thread :) Thanks for the posts guys :p

Regardless of their raiding performance, if you do not enjoy playing the character while leveling - you're wasting your time.

As for me - my rogue is a ton of fun to play. I had a pally, but I can't get around playing a char without stealth... so I rolled a druid instead.

I'm enjoying the PvE side of it, as well as the BG's I usually end up ranking 2nd or 3rd depending on the amount of twinks playing so its a lot of fun, I just don't want to be the last one picked when raids are going down
 
Rogues are common as fleas and DKs,and they usually find a warm home unlike fleas and DKs
 
Just a personal observation, I'm busy levelling my 4th toon 70-80, and in that process I've done a *lot* of 5 man instance runs.
Through all those instance runs, I can remember for sure there being exactly one instance group I was in that had a rogue in it. There may have been other groups I've been in that had rogues in them, but I really cannot remember.
Hell, you don't even see all that many rogues in general solo play these days either, and this is on EU-Sylvanas, where last I saw the largest "demographic" was UD rogue, with NElf rogues not being too far behind.
I have to confess my druid is loving this state of affairs, because even specced resto as she is at the moment, if leather drops in an instance she gets it, regardless of whether it's physical or caster DPS, or healing gear.

Ye I've noticed a lot fewer rogues on our server too.

I don't mind that much if a druid wants melee dps gear, even though nobody really goes dps kitty.

The problem with being a rogue and rolling for drops is this... you compete against:

1) fury/arms warriors
2) hunters
3) shammies
4) retadins
5) DK's

ALL of whom have their own mail/metal that you can't roll on. What erks me even more is when a hunter rolls against me on melee weapons. It makes me want to roll /need against them when a gun/xbow/etc. drops (even though I prefer my thrown weapons :D )

Combat spec
Combat definitely needs a buff. We don't want to go back to where every PvE rogue goes that route (and many leveling too) but its dps is too far behing Assassination.

Sorry, I see Rogues going ape **** about no CD on ***nives and how on multi-mob fights they're doing such insane DPS but you're still convinced that Rogues are crap now.

Utter rubbish. We have 2 Raiding Rogues and the only time their DPS is not in the top 5 is when they fail @ voidzones.

Rogues are just having to learn to deal with the broken specs getting fixed.
