WoW patch. need help

WoW patch .MPQ! NEED HELP

why is the patch 2.4 part 1 and 2 ".mpq" files and the others .exe?? sorry if its a stupid question

.mpq was just a part of the patch...add part 1 and 3 and the last part it extracts into the .exe

Blizzard has been using MPQ files since Warcraft. It's just their prefered way of packing files together.
