Hi Guys.

We have large amounts of spare capacity on our diginet lines on weekends, and nights. We are thinking of creating a WOW cafe where you can either bring your box or use one of our machines to play. Latency would be sub 250 ms guaranteed. Who would be interested in this and where would the ideal location be.

It would be a great idea

I would be very interested in using ur services especially at those Latency's
I am based in Durban
Think its a great idea

What about a vpn option?

That would boost us okes that use 3G.

A cafe would have to be open 24h since most morning on weekends I go to bed round 4am after my final HC run.

I tried these guys VPN service on trial....telkom shaped: 800-1000ms ods VPN(5minutes later): 800-1000ms ....I ran a tracert both times and e-mailed it to them they said they would get back to me....this was a week ago...Im still waiting....

In CT and interested. Tell me if those pings are possible then wouldn't it be a option to enable a payed VPN on weekends or night? 250ms + max 80ms local latency = <350ms which is a dream. I would gladly pay for a service like this if it was reasonable and connection speed was *guaranteed.
*by guaranteed I mean not due to outside factors like telkom, international problems etc but rather putting too many people on the line and bad connection sharing.

Hahaha yep.
I used it a couple of months before and it improved my latency by about 100ms.
But this month it actually made it worse by about 100ms.

Would also jump at a VPN solution with sub 400ms pings. Zero interest in the cafe idea.

How would the VPN work ? would you not end up routing over Telkoms bandwidth anyway. Please PM me a test account

A vpn option would work wonders for 3G since pings are all over the place.

I know quite a few guys that would be interested.

Yeah, I would be interested :D I'm In Pta. VPN's sound good as well :D MAybe even better.

Nobody i know would like to sit in a cafe to play wow some of us play alot of wow will REALLY suck to have to drive to a cafe every time i wanna log on thx but i think its a idea bound to fail the sub 250ms sounds good but i rather sit in my own house and play wow with 400-800ms than to drive to a cafe thats got a closing time.

And I smoke so there is going to be complaints smoke outside ect ect ect. No thx think vpn option is da best.

Also at internet cafee you have much more of a chance getting your account hacked as its very easy to load keyloggers on the network and then just come back later to get the logs and pop it on flash drive without anyone knowing anything until its too late.

The idea will be worth while only really for raid/lan events, meaning 10 or 25 peeps get together at the cafe and raid a dungeon/instance, Other than that i cant see the internet wow cafe been used for anything else.

read my post with regards to using a internet cafe for a group event, Youll have to chnage your password details before you attend the cafe/event, then when you get back home change it to something else.

besides you can hold the internet cafe responsible if anything does happen.
