A brand new forum, and it looks like I got the first post.

To stay on topic though, apart from the new 1mb ADSL, do people really feel that the connectivity offered in this country can really be termed 'broadband' with reference to what other countries have? I'm not referring to the definition of broadband as defined by ICASA or Telkom.

Should we be happy with what we have? If yes, then what Telkom *spit* has done for us is fantastic, I love them. ADSL is soooooo much faster than my old 56k dialup!

What, what is that you say? Other countries have WHAT speed ADSL???
Oh my word! Screw telkom *spit*!

(This is a rather long winded way of saying - No, 512 shouldnt be thought of as broadband)

I asume this is one of thows automatic complaints, far to many *spit* :)

Well broadband is relative, in other words if the whole world is usuing 100mbit and you still on 1mbit then you do not have broadband.

In short broadband status is relative to the average maximum user connection. Then again thats just my books.

Ha, yeah well the hatred builds up and you end up with toxicosis. Better out than in ;) (The only downside is the puddle next to my mouse)
