WOW Tonight 24 July 2009

there is no WoW tonight. Insane lag, disconnects every 5-10minutes.

I Pm'ed my experience in WoW tonight to you Shaun, thanks.

As mentioned there is no WoW tonight. 1k - 4k ms and constant disconnects.

So basically exactly like the problem we've been having on/off for the past 22 days.

But its all ok guys. its not ibursts problem its their service provider! duh !

EVERYTHING IS WORKING AS INTENDED.

It must be bandwidth issues :(
Ive been getting +-120ms stable this week

Well you are in LONDON according to your profile so that'd explain the 120ms....which (in comparison) is a good enough ping to make half of this board nerdgasm.

That said, full of disconnects as everyone else has already said.

I was using a static IP via iBurst from MTNBusiness (Verizon) last night to test if it would work. I had perfect latency between 280-420ms, no lag spikes or disconnects in 25-man raids last night. Seems to work perfectly.

Diegoa is this the first time since the problem that you have 280-420ms latency with a smooth evening ? (With the static IP ofc.)

If so i want it ! cause 280-420ms will make me be an IBurst customer for life.
Latency is still crap for me atm. If it were a Cable problem should the static IP make any difference ? cause it still has to go threw the cable or am i wrong ?
Anyhow if it is out of Ibursts hands then no matter what is done by IBurst (Static IP's etc) there should be no improvement till the cable is repaired.

Again i am not all clued up on these sort of things so can someone shed some light on the situation please ...

Yes first time. Shaun arranged with me yesterday to test it out with a static ip from MTNBusiness and not through Saix, to see if it will work. I am on at the moment with 365ms :o

MTNBusiness does not seem to be effected by cable break, they got a different route and upstream provider to Blizzard's ISP than Vodacom/Saix and dont go through level3 which is having this cable failure. The Static ip is just temporary for a few days to test it out.

Its been first time in a month now I have raided and not worried about disconnecting or latency, felt good to play.

EU, everyone I know who is through MTNBusiness (verizon) has same latency range, which is good for 25-mans.

i am connecting to the EU server, Got IBurst through Vodacom so i guess my latency will be affected by the cable. Damn so i **** out i guess :(

Aye I have that too on IBurst through Vodacom :(, but MTNBusiness with static ip Shaun as loaned me to do tests seems a whole lot better, last night and this morning seems a whole lot better. Hope we can make some permanent arrangement for all WoW gamers if cable is not repaired in time. I dont mind paying for a static ip through MTNBusiness.

While it's fine and dandy you don't mind paying alot of us wouldn't like the idea of paying extra for the same service we were getting before.

Static ip from IBurst cost and additional R200 im not realy prepared to pay that much extra if it were cheaper it could be an option but this would be the same as my current subscription :(

i am willing to accept a free static IP in reparation of not being able to use my net for the past 20 odd days. As long as that fixed the problem :P

*edit:actually no, i take that back as billing would find a way to mess that up

Been playing all day and evening with very good latencies ~ 360-380ms. Tried some 25-mans and 10-mans this evening without any spikes or disconnects, went pretty smooth.
