Guys pls I don't want another "WoW is better than GW" thread.

I read thru the above and still can't decide if I should go and get the game to test it or if it's a waste of about 3 months worth of WoW subscription.

There is Guys here that has either played one or the other or maybe even both.

I would like to know

1. Does LOTRO olso have a PvP realm where you play the story line in constant PvP action ?
2. Is there a constant interaction of players or is it just instance based like GW ?

Also pls post your review of any of the 2 games if you like

wow - there is life past lvl 20 (and even lvl 70)

gw - there is not much life past lvl 20

I droped that idea due to the lack of feedback and got myself TBC instead

Now my logging screen looks so cool and green :D

I got myself LOTRO this weekend and I am impressed, the graphics are stunning and the effects are amazing. You can actually see your character holding the shield or dogging an attack, and you get a much better feel that you are a shining knight in amour or a mighty wizard. I do not however like the fact the “Priest Class” plays a music instrument to heal your party or attack a mob. The simple fact is I still prefer wow’s game play, its still early days for me in LOTRO but I feel like this game is only going to be a short distraction, so I’m not canceling my wow account yet.

I have been playing WOW for awhile now and I really hoped that LOTRO would be a game that might replace it.

It's not bad, it's just not better than wow and I can't see it as a replacement.

Yes, the graphics is pretty and the world looks very nice but it has the same awkward animation/movement from my avatar as you have from GW and to me it's very annoying.

WOW just feels better when you play it. WOW is also a lot older and hence it is stable and it already has its 1st expansion.

As a PVE player I do not really like pvp’ing, but I really like the battleground that has been implemented in WOW and I will occasionally have a quick go at one.

But tbh, what stopped me from playing immediately was the 800 Meg patch soon after the release in SA.

I could not see the game as good enough to warrant spending the money to download such a big patch to a game I knew I would probably not play beyond its 1st free month.

This is prob. my own fault.

I bought TBC only over the weekend.

Installed the discs and I thought o man this is going to be so cool.

BAM !

Downlaoding update.... Here I was sitting thinking can only be a few MB's.
1st was about 4MB's
2nd around 10MB's

I eventually thought ok I'll just leave it and play the following day.
Had a few beers a braai and and and.

Next morning I woke up.

Checked the data counter and the Patches and update was close to 1GB

Then again. I think the patches are released per version so I must have missed allot. Made it all worth while when my very first drop was [Formula: Enchant weapon Mongoose]

Sad part:

It was my main and I don't have enchanting on it

Good part:

It's worth a fortune :D

Think I made the right choice in Getting TBC and keeping my WoW addiction alive :p

Yea, kind of forgot about that.

The TBC expansion took the game to version 2, but since its launch we had 3 major patches with a 4th coming soon.

You will therefore note when logged in that it's now version 2.3.xx.

A lot of the patches after the TBC launch were armor graphics updates hence the large patches

Where did that drop, supposed to only drop in Kara.

Dropped off a spider in Badlands.

edit: Not badlands the Place with the portal.....mmmm....
Wait let me get a map on the net quick. can't recall the name now

I didn't ask why :D

The thing about Wow patches are that they're not only bug fixes. Not the big ones anyways. They're usually instance encounters. Black Temple and Mount Hijal were released as pacthes after release.

Can't remeber what content is due for release in the next big patch though.
