Its actually pathetic how upset you fanboys get about a game, especially when some one puts WoW as a higher priority than sex in his life,LOL....... get a grip for god sakes.

I play wow, started again after taking a small break, and I actually enjoy playing wow. There I got that off my chest.

As for defending, it is just human nature to bite back when someone steps on ur toes. This isnt a case of throwing toys out of the box, this is more of a case:

1. We support legitimate software, pls dont harass us over and over again with ur "free" pirate servers, we are just not interested. U advertising and asking users to join u on ur server is similar to someone posting in the PC Hardware and Software section saying stop paying microsoft, we can supply you a pirate copy. That kind of behaviour is generally looked down upon, and after being constantly hammered with it, tempers tend to flare faster than when this was posted the first time.

2. And no, the priority list isnt all that, tis called sarcasm;), we know how to prioritise our lifes. Many of the players posting on this forum are grown up people that have everyday jobs, wifes, girlfriends, families etc.

3. We use these forums to keep in touch and grow the "legitimate" game base in South Africa, saying that, we not going to flame peeps that ask for help, even if they are on private servers, we just dont like being forced over and over and over and over again to use a pirate server.

4. Oh yeah, in case you missed it, which part of we like to pay for the game we play, did u not understand. It has nothing to do with making Blizzard rich or Blizzard ripping us off. We appreciate the product and enjoy the game. The same way u will tip a waiter for a good service, we pay our monthly fees for a quality product.

Now thats a good fair post. Thuumbs up to Timken. Reasonable and Logical.

Incidently i have never even used an "EMOOOO" server. I played legal from day one. I was just trying to look at it from their point of view. People are way way too sensitive, and really dont handle issues very well.

I myself don't play on the Non-Official server nor do I advertise them, but I am tired of the elitist attitude and constant flaming that occurs when people who do play private servers try to get a community going and more players to join, this isn't the Official forums and I have actually seen posts from the admins where they take a very lenient stance towards the issue largely due to the fact that Blizzard doesn't give a damn about SA or Africa for that matter by denying us access to decent latency servers. So therefore it is not against forum policies to post about private servers here, don't act as if its a violation against the WoW players when these topics do appear.

No one is forcing anyone to join private servers, where does anyone get that idea? Why is it so hard to tolerate it? Just ignore the thread if it offends you so much.

Don't worry I understand perfectly that people pay for it, hell I pay for it too!
What part of We Like to play private servers did you not understand?
Too each his own, but from what you can clearly see in this thread, its mostly the fanboys that are intolerant and highly defensive when they get a little of thier own medicine.

Now not being funny, but u ripped my post apart, even thou I didnt insult, flame or make fun of u.

I just gave my 2 cents opinion, which is worth just that 2 cents. I aint an Admin on the forums, nor am I a Guru everyone looks up to. I tried to give an unbiased opinion on how I feel towards the posts, since it aint the first time this has come up.

Look up again, quotes from ur post Joy, enlighten me, do u just post for the sake of posting? Sometimes read what u posted? Or just generally dont get along and step on everyones toes? Ur previous post seems to contradict itself slightly.

This is fun

*ponders what to say next for the trolls to jump up and down*

:D

And i've even been quoted in a signature .... aw... I bring joy.... job done!

anyone taking the intarwebs so seriously (aka you guys) should really just CTFO

c'mon... go drink a beer... schnaai the wife or gf.... don't waste time trying to argue with me because whatever you're going to say I'm going to find proof of on the internet to contradict you just to make you upset and argue with me

FYI, wowscape is EMU software right? So I'm not entirely sure what Blizzard is doing regarding this, all I know they're issueing take down notices of functioning EMU servers. Now if this is because the server somehow infringes on something (be it copyright or charging for the service) and others don't. I don't know. Go ask them that. I just report what I see

1. So how do you figure that Blizzard or any game developer for that matter, is responsible for the network infrastructure in SA ?

2. Calling people who steal and use pirated software, a "community" is a bit odd. They are a criminals. They break the law. South Africa is signatory to these international conventions. http://www.safact.co.za/

3. Why dont these people write their own code instead of stealing someone else's, if they feel so strongly about it. Other developers do.

4. Its easy to tolerate criminal behaviour when it suites you, until you yourself, or family/friends are a victim of some scumbag.

You are correct, they do seem to be doing something about them now:

I think the point is that this is a Legal WOW forum and if you wanna post crap about emu servers get a account with mmowned. You will see all the regulars on this forum get hyped up about emulated servers, gold seller and ppl who have quit who come back and preach to us.

We just wanna keep our local forums clean.

EMU = Piracy = Theft

If you want to play, either pay the damned admission fee, or find something else to do. And given we're talking about a subscription based service here, what you are doing by playing on an EMU server is not just stealing from Blizzard, but also effectively stealing from each and every one of us here who pay our subs to play on the official servers. Our subs pay to develop the content you play on your cracked servers, so why should you enjoy the benefits, and the content that we have paid for?

OH NO YOU DIDNT!

isankey dont even bring the piracy argument into this. If you can honestly tell me that every piece of software, and every movie/song you have ever watched/listened to is legal then you can bring that argument to the table.

OH NO YOU DIDN'T!!!!!!

You seriously didn't just try to justify your sins by pointing at the (alleged mind you) sins of others?
Two or more wrongs making a right, and justifying the theft?

Grow up.
Don't steal.
Pay your damn subscription.

Otherwise, play another game that you *do* own, or find something else to do that doesn't involve you stealing from people, including the other users of the product

Justify my sins? YOH!

Incidently, if you had actually read the rest of this pathetic thread you would have seen that i actually play legal. So once again i will ask you, do you have any pirated software?

Haha, AcidRazor trust me I'm hardly the one getting worked up over a game. The internet is a playground, I'm glad you realised that, think about it next time you start insulting people ;)

Now not being funny, but u ripped my post apart, even thou I didnt insult, flame or make fun of u.
I didn't insult or flame you or rip your post up :( You were the only civil one to post here so far, I was just trying to argue my points with your very valid points.Compared to the rest of the flaming ad insulting rubbish posted here.

A far as I can recall I have not insulted anyone unless they insulted me first, check for yourself.

It's funny how you guys all play the anti piracy card now at a convenient time,I wouldn't dare to guess the amount of illegal media on any of your pc's whether it is games, music, series or any other random illegal bit torrent downloads.Who am I to accuse any of you although I know without a shadow of a doubt, anyone here who tries to use that sorry excuse for an argument has been involved in some form of illegal software, but if you are convinced you are not then humor us...

Hypocrites .

And once again I ask you, why should I pay the subscription so that other people can abuse and steal the product?
Into which twisted morality does "Person A steals product X, Person B steals Product Y, ergo Person C is justified in stealing Product Z" fit?

Do I have pirated software or anything else? Frankly it's irrelevant. If I do (which is way more than likely given our stats, no argument there), it makes me a hypocrite, it doesn't make me wrong. It does not invalidate my point. It does not justify theft of intellectual property by any other person.

So again, EMU = Piracy = Theft, and not just from the developers, but from those of us who do pay our subs. So again, I ask you, why should I tolerate it? WHy should I keep quiet? Why should I not protest against this behaviour?

Of course it is relevant. You accusing people of stealing when you are in fact doing THE EXACT SAME THING!

How is some crappy Emu server with 500 people "stealing from you" Its not like Azeroth is going to come crashing down before because of them.

The reason you pay the subscription is the same reason as anyone else playing legal: It is better. No argument there. If you dont want to pay the subscription and play on crappy buggy servers go for it?

If this is the moral highground you honestly live in with regard to tolerance i suggest you never leave your room, and stay in WoW 12 hours a day. Else you will be protesting non stop.

I didn't want to use this argument since it is weak in the first place, but undeniably relevant.
I doubt that with 10 million subscribers no amount of pirated servers is even going to dent blizzards revenue for game development.

Ergo any argument that it is immoral, unjust and whatever the hell else is moot if you yourself use any form of illegal media software and since we know that no amount of illegal wow servers running will effect blizzard development.

Case and point.
